3 easy ways to get more click-throughs from your email marketing

Printer-Friendly Format

A prospective business client's email box is full of competing messages.  To make sure your email is opened, and to gain click-throughs to your site, follow these often over-looked golden rules.

1.  Push powerful keywords of your reader to the beginning of your subject line, and make sure those keyword phrases are relevant to your reader.  Usually, businesses want to hear about things like how to reduce costs, how to grow sales, or other result-oriented verbiage.  Avoid the dreary and dull "Here's this week's newsletter from us..." type wording in the subject line.

2.  If you have several items in the email, put a mini table of contents at the top of the email, and pack it with relevant keywords and statement relevant to the reader.  This helps them identify that there is content they should read.  Don't make the sift through it on their own, or you'll lose them.

3.  Be sure links in your email are complete, so that readers can easily click-through to your message..  "yourcompany.com" is likely to show up only as text, not a live link.   As will "www.yourcompany.com"  Be sure to show the full URL, like "http://www.onehourmarketing.com" so that readers don't have to cut-and-paste to click-through.  (Oddly, this is a very common mistake in email marketing).
