Shaped CD business cards
In recent years, shaped CD business cards have become very popular.
What are they?
Sometimes refered to as multi-shaped CD or CDR business cards, these
tiny CD-ROMS can be used in virtually any CD drive, can carry the same data
formats as a regular CD disk can (audio, video, etc.).
They come in variety of formats including:
- the shape of an actual paper business card (which is roughly 3-1/2 inches by
2 inches)
- the shape of a "hockey rink" (similar in size to the paper business
card, but with rounded edges on the left and right).
- customized shaped CD business cards can include irregular dimensions --
perhaps like the shape of your logo or an icon related to your business.
For example, if you are a realtor, you might have one in the shape of a
house.
How could you use the shaped cd business card format for your business?
- Turn your brochure or catalog into an interactive format
- Show audio, video or photographic samples of your products or services
- Use as a premium or gift to a prospect or customer
What are some of the benefits to using these?
- they offer you a premium, high tech, progressive look or appearance
- can increase traffic to your website
- compact and convenient size to carry and store
What are the costs?
You'll want to carefully consider the costs involved for shaped CD
business cards. These elements would include:
- multi-media content development (such as taking your print brochure or
catalog and putting it into a format useful for a CD)
- graphic design (for the content and the CD's packaging)
- screen printing (such as printing your logo or other design on the CD itself
or the packaging)
- replication services
